If you've known me for longer than 5 minutes, you'll know my personality is mainly a combination of two things: books and music. So when I came across the Bohemian Rhapsody book tag on Zezee With Books's blog, I knew I had to give it a shot. It's also a way for me to give random book recommendations, which I love to do, so read on for some great books you should pick up!

The tag's original creator is the Bookish Underdog!

Oh, and why not relisten to this classic whilst you read?

Mama, just killed a man - A fictional character's death that really upset you

There's a death in Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro that I remember getting really emotional by. If you've read the book, you know how impactful the story is, but I won't say anything else in case you haven't. This is one of my all-time favourites, and if you haven't read it yet, I definitely recommend you give it a try!

Carry on, carry on – Pick a book that was hard to keep reading but was worth it in the end

House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas. The reason this was a hard read for me is because the first 300 or so pages were basically just set-up and world building. I'm not much of an adult fantasy reader, as I tend to find them dense, and this was no exception. However, once I'd got through the first third of the novel, the rest completely flew by. The characters were so well done, and the story had me hooked. With that being said, I've decided not to continue with the series, as I've heard some pretty negative reviews about books two and three.

Sends shivers down my spine – Pick a book with a beautiful spine/cover

A special edition of Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland"

I fell in love with this edition of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland as soon as I saw it at the bookshop. The spine is simple but pretty, and the cover itself is just gorgeous! The foiling didn't come through in the shot but it's an added touch which I adored.

Goodbye everybody, I’ve got to go – A book that you couldn’t finish

The Flatshare by Beth O'Leary. The premise sounded so good - one flat, one bed, and two tenants who use it at different times of the day. They start communicating through notes, and as romances tend to go, the implication is that they end up falling for each other. I wanted to love this, but I didn't even make it to page 50. It's narrated in dual POV, and the guy's was just so weirdly written. Grammar? Flew out the window. I couldn't take it.

Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very frightening – Which book did you find very, very frightening?

Supernatural - it's an anthology full of spooky tales, compiled by Alan Ridout and James Gibson.

Bismillah, no! We will not let you go – Which book/series do you wish there had been more of?

A copy of "You'll Be the Death of Me" by Karen M. McManus

I'm not sure if the author ever plans on writing a sequel (that ending...!!!) but I would LOVE a continuation of You'll Be the Death of Me by Karen M. McManus.

Mamma Mia, Mamma Mia – Which book/series should be made into a musical?

A copy of "Better than the Movies" by Lynn Painter

Better than the Movies by Lynn Painter would make such a cute musical!

The head-banging bit – Which book made you facepalm?

Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett. This is a surrealist play I had to read for my degree. Couldn't stand it. The genre itself isn't for me - I need things to make some form of sense when I read a book. Or maybe I'm just not smart enough for this one.

Oh baby, can’t do this to me, baby – Pick a moment from a book where you felt like the author was being mean to you?

Every single time the main characters were snatched from each other's grasp in Lovers and Liars by Josephine Cox. Those two deserved so much better. The mutual pining was heart wrenching.

Nothing really matters to me – Which character/s did you not care about

Gale from The Hunger Games. I don't get the hype. Team Peeta all the way.

Aaaand those are all the questions from the tag! Let me know if you enjoyed this - I'd love to do some more book tags in the future.
