Books are wonderful. I've loved reading ever since I could - stories are just so magical to me, no matter the genre. Apart from that, though, books can also be incredibly gorgeous to look at. In today's post, I'm going to be sharing with you some of my absolute favourite book covers, and telling you a little bit about why I like each one of them so much.
Note: the covers on this list are all ones that I physically own, as it would be too long of a list if I had to include books I don't personally have yet.
1. The Fortune Men by Nadifa Mohamed
The colours, the starkness and mystery of the man pictured in black and white, the fonts... This cover had my attention as soon as I saw it.
2. Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen (Penguin Classics Edition)
The covers in this collection are pretty much all stunning, but this one's my fave from the ones I currently own. The colours just go really nicely together. The one thing I will say about these covers is that sadly the stencilling rubs off easily.
3. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum (Miles Kelly Children's Classics Edition)
The embossed illustration on this hardback edition is absolutely stunning; I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. It's stunning to the touch and easy on the eye!
4. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling (MinaLima Edition)
MinaLima editions are always gorgeous, and I couldn't resist grabbing myself a copy of this book. The colours, the foiling, the imagery... Just wow!
5. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens (Collins Classics Edition)
This one's really simple, and I'm not sure why I like it, but the bright red just screams Christmas.
6. Greek Myths Jigsaw Book by Usborne
Pretty foiling, gorgeous illustrations, magical colours... Need I say more?
Bonus! Jolly Good Food
If the recipes inside this cookbook inspired by Enid Blyton's stories are as delicious as the cover looks, I'm in for a jolly good time (pun intended, sorry)!
I hope you enjoyed this quick post. Let me know what some of your favourite book covers are!
